Hi, my name is Visvak and I am a writer and editor, mostly of narrative non-fiction.
I am primarily interested in narrative reportage at the intersection of technology, politics, and culture—although I frequently write on other subjects as well.
My writing has appeared in The Hindu, Caravan, Scroll.in, The Wire, Huffington Post, BuzzFeed News, Mint, Business Line, Mongabay, Asia Times, Newslaundry, Pragati, and Arre, among others.
If you want to get a quick sense of my writing and reporting, these five pieces are, in my opinion, my greatest hits.
A wider selection of my published work is available here.
I’ve worked in print and digital journalism—as an editor and as a reporter. I used to run Dialogue, BuzzFeed India’s essays section, and I’ve also worked as a features writer and editor at The Hindu and at BusinessLine.
Currently, I work with various publications as a freelance reporter and as an external editor with the Economic & Political Weekly.
